Nashville, Tenn. – Join United Methodist Communications in celebrating the power of podcasts on International Podcast Day on September 30 at UMCom.org/PodcastDay. Podcasts have exploded in popularity, and provide a new way to do ministry. According to PodcastHosting.org, there are now more than 2,000,000 podcasts and 48 million+ episodes. Throughout the day, the agency will unveil new podcast episodes and discussions that can be accessed at the celebration webpage and on their Facebook page.
United Methodist Communications offers four podcasts to make your ministry more effective and your spiritual journey more fruitful. Special episodes of podcasts will be produced by United Methodist Communications for International Podcast Day, as well as a video interview with two of the podcast hosts, the Rev. Joe Iovino and the Rev. Ryan Dunn, who provide insights into what goes into a podcast behind the scenes.
- Get Your Spirit in Shape is a free, 30-minute podcast from United Methodist Communications featuring casual conversations with leaders, authors, and others who offer spiritual nutrition and exercises to help us get and keep our spirits in shape.
- The Compass bi-monthly podcast looks at the question of how to nurture your soul and shares insights on finding something spiritual or the presence of the Divine in day-to-day life. Guests talk about how they are encountering spirituality in surprising ways.
- A new podcast, Pastoring in the Digital Parish, delivers community and resources for leaders adjusting to ministry in digital space.
- The MyCom podcast teaches communities of faith how to effectively find their audience and share their story with the world. Learn from savvy church marketers, pastors and leaders who offer expert advice on outreach ideas, communications, social media and new technology.
United Methodist Communications is using the power of communication to share inspiring content, provide opportunities for dialogue, and increase awareness of The United Methodist Church and our beliefs—and is resourcing local churches to do the same.
