This is the week to rally your congregation, reminding everyone of the transformative power of their gifts. UMCOR Sunday is a time for us to come together as a church family to support ministries that bring relief, recovery, and hope to people in need worldwide.
Here are a few last-minute tips to make this week impactful:
- Raise awareness. Share impactful images and graphics to highlight UMCOR Sunday. Place the posters and pew cards in high traffic areas, use the prewritten content and social graphics in post this week.
- Share stories. Highlight a specific ministry or success story that shows the real-world impact of UMCOR’s work. Incorporate the resources designed to complementyour worship service: call to worship, children’s bulletin and sermon, bulletin inserts and covers and even a sermon starter.
- Be inviting. Personally remind others about the opportunity to give this Sunday. Inform them there's an easy online option available at donate.gcfa.org/umcor if that works better for them.
- Celebrate! Build a sense of joy and unity around participating in this global ministry.
- Prepare to Give: Send your collected offerings to your annual conference treasurer.
