Brenda Smotherman and Crystal Caviness were the main #BeUMC booth workers, and Jennifer Rodia pitched in to help when the need arose. [Patty DelliBovi who had done the prep work but whose health kept her from traveling was there in spirit.] The trio took a moment to celebrate being people of God with the large letters that were well received by all. Even attending bishops took time to check out the #BeUMC booth, take some selfie camera shots, and pose for a couple group pictures. They were very complimentary of the booth and our agency's work on the overall campaign. As shown in the right hand photo L-R: Bishop LaTrelle Easterling, Bishop Ann Sherer-Simpson, Bishop Karen Oliveto, Bishop Tracy Smith Malone and Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey. A number of general secraties from across the church agencies gathered in the #BeUMC booth in advance of a special mingle event for Assembly attendees. Unfortunately, our very own Dan Krause encountered travel delays and was unable to attend as planned. Shown L-R: Dawn Wiggins Hare (General Commission on the Status and Role of Women), Susan Henry-Crowe (General Board of Church and Society), Roland Fernandes (Global Ministries), Dr. Ashley Boggan Dreff (General Commission on Archives and History), Rev. Greg Bergquist (General Board of Higher Education and Ministry), Harriet Olson (United Women in Faith) and Rev. Jeff Campbell (Discipleship Ministries). (Photo by Stacey Hagewood.)

After a lot of hard work and late nights, a number of teammates gathered for one last dinner at the highly recommended Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse. They even lucked into getting a private room, this one themed as the movie The Godfather. The trip overall afforded staff the opportunity to share laughs and get to know each other better in a different setting. Pictured L-R: Brenda Smotherman, Deeann Bogle, Stacey Hagewood, Stacey's friend and fellow Assembly attendee Janet Phelps, Helen Allen, Katie Sluder and Julie Dwyer.

After a lot of hard work from staff across the agency, the #BeUMC message rang loud and clear during the Women in Faith Assembly 2022 event in Orlando last month.

A special thank you  to the creative, marketing, communications, production and relationship teams who played key roles in the event roll-out.

Despite COVID putting a few kinks in the plans and shipping woes, the #BeUMC booth was a smashing success. People responded well to the eye-catching display and connected with the unifying message and core value words.  Check out this photo slideshow to view the booth in action.

We invite you to share the #BeUMC message on your social feeds and encourage your local church to do the same. Resources to get started are available via the online toolkit.
