COVID-19 forced United Methodist Volunteers in Mission to postpone in-person mission journeys, Global Ministries and UMVIM jurisdictional offices encouraged team leaders and mission-minded people to participate in “virtual missions.”

Oct. 24—22nd Sunday after Pentecost/United Nations Day—Rural Life Sunday (Undated; Annual Conference may take special offering)
Most children look forward to Head Start classes because they love playing with their friends. “Tammy,” a four-year-old in northeastern Tennessee, loved Head Start because of the opportunity to take a warm bath.

Oct. 31—23rd Sunday after Pentecost/Reformation Sunday—Native American Heritage Month (American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month, November)
In response, the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference worked with the Church Under the Bridge to distribute 72 filled backpacks to homeless people.
