With so many staff working from home, the proverbial daily water cooler experience doesn’t happen on a larger scale. Sometimes we miss out on fun insights that we learn about our teammates during traditional office interaction.
This month we take a moment to get to know our newest employees.
They took time to give us some fun facts about them.
Beverly Wilkinson
Associate Marketing Project Specialist, Connectional Giving Marketing
Three things you might be surprised to know about me:
- I have had seven different hair colors since 2016!
- I have never broken a bone!
- I studied ballet for 13 years and vocal music for 14 years!
Hobbies:
I love to sing, both in a classical choir setting and just in the car! I also enjoy cooking and am planning on learning how to play tennis!
Family:
I come from musical family – my oldest brother Robert plays 5 instruments and is studying to become a piano tuner, my middle brother Sam plays the viola and studied Viola Performance in college, my mom is a professional pianist and music educator, and my dad loves listening to music and sharing music with others!
Pets:
I have a 4-year-old rescue cat named Margo and she is the light of my life!
Guilty pleasure:
I love the Twilight movies!
Favorite ice cream flavor:
My favorite ice cream flavor is Mint Chocolate Chip, which is apparently the “pineapple on pizza debate” of ice cream. Some people love it, and some people really dislike it!
Favorite thing to grill:
I enjoy grilling salmon!
Cooking specialty:
I am famous at my church for making Tortellini Soup. I use The Modern Proper’s recipe, which is linked here: Tortellini Soup with Italian Sausage and Kale | The Modern Proper. I throw in some spinach with the kale!

Three things you might be surprised to know about me:
- I am a Canada fanatic! I absolutely love the beauty and bilingual culture of Canada, especially in Montreal and Quebec City.
- I’ve always wanted to visit Switzerland.
- I’ve been a drummer since the fourth grade.
Hobbies:
I’ve been learning to do basic code while helping to build a new website for my church. I’m really starting to enjoy it! I also love watching documentaries, especially when they relate to American History.
Family:
I’m engaged to Leah and we are getting married next May! I can’t wait!
Pets:
Back home, I have a dog, Captain, and two cats, Reggie and Isabella.
Guilty pleasure:
Eating Dutch Apple Pie à la mode… yum J
Favorite ice cream flavor:
My favorite ice cream is Cappuccino Crunch from Hershey’s Ice Cream.
Favorite thing to grill & cooking specialty:
BBQ Ribs are my sweet spot on the grill. I’ve worked hard to minimize the char while enhancing the juiciness and sweetness.

- I have a LARGE snow globe collection
Family:
My wife Jessica and I live in Bellevue. We have three daughters, Madison, age 26 lives in St. Louis, Isabella, age 20 and Anna-Leigh, age 14.
Pets:
Benito (pictured above) is a Xoloitzcuintli, a Mexican Hairless dog.
Guilty pleasure:
Ska music…I caught the “third wave” in the late 90’s and haven’t let go.

Strawberry

You can’t beat a juicy steak, but corn on the cob is a close second.
