Request for Declaratory Decision from the West Ohio Annual Conference of the meaning, application and effect of ¶ 405.2c adopted by the 2008 General Conference regarding the relationship between the Interjurisdictional Committee on Episcopacy and the General Conference

The request for a declaratory decision from the West Ohio Annual Conference on the meaning, application and effect of ¶ 405.2c adopted by the 2008 General Conference regarding the relationship between the Interjurisdictional Committee on Episcopacy and the General Conference is deferred until the Spring 2009 docket.

The matter is further remanded to the West Ohio Annual Conference with directions to the Secretary of the Annual Conference to provide the Secretary of the Judicial Council within 30 days of the date of notification with materials relating to the matter being appealed, including a copy of the minutes where such matter arose in the normal proceedings of the body.

The President of the Judicial Council has determined that other parties not named in the petition would be affected by a declaratory decision. The following additional parties shall be added and it shall be the obligation of the Secretary of the West Ohio Annual Conference to serve said additional parties with a copy of the petition for declaratory decision within 15 days after being so directed: the Interjurisdictional Committee on Episcopacy, the Council of Bishops, the Jurisdictional Committee on Episcopacy of each jurisdiction, and the Secretary of the General Conference. See ¶ 2610.3 of the 2004 Discipline.
