GCAH ANNOUNCES GIVING TUESDAY 2023 CAMPAIGN
Matching $5,000 gift, new initiatives in the works

Madison, N.J. - Giving Tuesday 2023 happens one week from today! Millions of people around the world participate in this day of generosity and we invite you to join in by supporting the vital ministry at the General Commission on Archives and History (GCAH).

For more than 50 years, GCAH has served The United Methodist Church through its ministry of memory, allowing United Methodists to understand our past, contextualize the present and envision our future. There has never been a time in our denomination when this important work matters more than now.

On Giving Tuesday, your tax-deductible gift to GCAH enables the ministry to tell the story of The United Methodist Church, as well as partner with us to share resources and opportunities for our history to be discovered and preserved.

GCAH has creative and innovative initiatives for the coming years:

  • Continue to create and publish online history courses designed for local church and small group use, including the new “Radicle Methodism,” a four-part introductory history course available at no charge to local churches and individuals;
  • Produce the American Methodist Pilgrimage, a multi-day tour of top Methodist sites;
  • Launch United MethodiSTories, an oral history software to easily capture stories of United Methodists throughout the connection in a secure repository;
  • Record and publish our podcast, "Un-Tied Methodism,” which begins twice-a-month episodes in January;
  • Develop resources to get children and youth excited about Methodist history and heritage
  • Continuing the necessary transition to a digital repository, increasing access to our denomination's history for all!

For Giving Tuesday 2023, GCAH has received a matching $5,000 gift. The anonymous donor will match 100 percent, dollar for dollar, up to $5,000! Take advantage of this unique opportunity to double the impact of your financial giving. Use the donate button link for secure online giving or mail a check made payable to GCAH to 36 Madison Avenue, Madison, NJ 07940.
