Peace with Justice Sunday Email #3

Dear Church Leader,

We’re in the final stretch—Peace with Justice Sunday is just a few days away! This is the time to bring everything together and encourage your congregation to engage in a meaningful way.

When we give, we help support programs that reflect God’s call for a world rooted in faith, justice, peace, and security. The United Methodist Church has a long-standing commitment to advocating for peace and justice. Through the General Board of Church and Society's consultative status with the United Nations, we actively participate in global efforts to promote reconciliation, human rights, and lasting peace.

This week’s email reminds people of the real impact of their gifts and invites them to be part of this vital movement. Now is the time to encourage them to give, reflect, and take action.

To help you finalize your preparations for this Special Sunday, here’s a handy checklist:

  • Inspire Generosity: View the Mission Moments and More devotional for Peace with Justice, to encourage support for programs that bring justice and peace to communities. Use the scripture reading, offertory prayer OR the Offering Talk from the pastor and leader kit to encourage giving.
  • Prepare the Message: Ask your speaker to emphasize key themes from the Peace with Justice Sunday sermon materials to inspire your congregation to take action and contribute to the cause of justice and peace.
  • Create Visibility: Print and display the Peace with Justice Sunday poster in a prominent location to raise awareness and inspire participation.
  • Equip Greeters: Provide Bulletin Inserts for greeters to distribute as people enter the sanctuary, helping them understand the importance of Peace with Justice Sunday and how they can contribute.
  • Prepare Envelopes: Print and apply the envelope labels for offering envelopes to make it easy for congregants to give during worship.
  • Enhance Worship: Incorporate the Peace with Justice Call to Worship into your service to help your congregation reflect on the significance of this ministry.
  • Engage Online: Post regularly on social media throughout the week using the provided social graphics to encourage participation and promote the Peace with Justice Sunday offering.
  • After Peace with Justice Sunday: Be sure to announce the total offering received and thank your congregation for their generosity. Celebrating their impact helps reinforce the importance of their support.

Your dedication makes all the difference—let’s make this Sunday a powerful celebration of God’s peace and justice!

In Christ,

Dear [Church Family/Small Group],

This Sunday is Peace with Justice Sunday!

As a church, we have the power to bring hope and healing to a world in need. By giving to this special offering, we support efforts to reduce violence, advocate for human rights, and create lasting peace. Half of what we give stays in our conference to support local justice ministries, while the rest helps fund national and global initiatives.

Would you prayerfully consider making a gift this Sunday? Whether large or small, your contribution plays a role in God’s work of peace and justice.

Join us in worship as we celebrate this important day and take action together!

In Christ’s peace,

Yours in Christ,
