#BeUMC messaging
Key messaging themes
A foundational statement supports four key messaging themes, which resonate across diverse constituents. Use this messaging as you communicate about the #BeUMC campaign and as you share why you are United Methodist and what makes you optimistic for the future as we move toward a more perfect Church.
The key themes are intended to highlight what unites us as United Methodists and what we are working towards, together. When using this messaging, you should do so in a way that is authentic to your experience and context. Each key theme offers examples of different ways people might talk about it.
To help you facilitate a discussion in your church, we have created a customizable slide presentation called, "We are the church. Together." The slideshow is built around the key themes and will remind members of their identity as United Methodists while also inviting them engage in constructive conversations about what they hope the future will bring, both for The United Methodist Church as a whole and their congregation.
Core values
A set of core values is aligned with each key theme; each value has a set of downloadable graphics that can be used to bring the campaign to all aspects of our United Methodist connection.
Choose to feature core values that most closely relate to your conference, congregation, ministry or a season. Maybe you’ll choose to highlight a different core value each month in order to show the diverse ways your congregation lives out its faith and to build ongoing excitement for the campaign.
